If you have two days in Kyoto, you can cover most of Kyoto's must-visit historical sites and attractions.

In this tour, I will take you to the places I have carefully selected as the quintessential sites of Kyoto, and you can learn a lot about Kyoto and Japan in two day while enjoying the authentic beauty of each spot.
For example, by visiting both a Buddhist temple and a Shinto shrine, you will also learn why the Japanese have two different religions. The tour includes Nijo castle, where you will also learn about the life of Samurai.

I will also share with you many stories about the traditions, history, and culture of Japan, including seasonal customs of the local people and the traditions of the local people who preserve them.
As a local and a long-time tea ceremony practitioner, I can explain the beauty and traditions of Japan from two aspects: traditional beauty and practical beauty.
This tour includes visits to 5 World Heritage Sites; Tenryu-ji, Kinkaku-ji, Kiyomizu-dera, Nijo-jo and Ginkaku-ji.

【DAY 1】

1. Nijo-jo Castle 
Nijo Castle is the only castle ramained in Kyoto.
It has witnessed the beginning and end of the Tokugawa government that took place from 17C to 19C.Here, you can enjoy the luxurious castle with many forms of arts of Samurai style, such as gorgeous paintings, carvings and beautiful garden.

2. Kinkaku-ji temple (Golden Pavilion)
Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion) is one the most iconic and popular sights in Japan.  
It's a Zen temple in northern Kyoto whose top two floors are completely covered in real gold leaf. It was built by the Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, the third shogun of the Muromachi shogunate, in 1398.

Here you can see the gorgeous and unique architecture of a Samurai who wanted to be a King of Japan.

3. Arashiyama area: Tenryu-ji Temple & Bamboo path 
In the morning, we visit Arashiyama area. Since the ancient time, this area was loved by the Emperor and aristocrats because of its beautiful scenery with the Toguestu-bridge crossed over the river-Katsura.

4.Gion District
Gion is one of the five Geisha districts in Kyoto, located near the Yasaka Shrine.
It is full of shops, restaurants and ochaya (tea houses), where Geiko (Kyoto dialect for Geisha) and Maiko (apprentices of Geiko) entertain their guests. In this area you can also find authentic Japanese architectures including Maiko's houses. Authentic Japanese architectures.
If you are lucky, you may be able to see Maiko-san!

5. Downtown area & Ponto-cho St. 
One of Kyoto's main streets, Shijo-dori street is the largest shopping street in the city.
It is characterized by a mix of modern high-end fashion stores and long-established stores selling Kyoto's traditional crafts and specialties.
You can learn about local dining if you go to the basement grocery section of a department store, or popular eating out if you go to Ponto-cho Street, one of Kyoto's most atmospheric dining areas.

1. Fushimi Inari Shrine 
Fushimiinari shrine is an important Shinto shrine in Southern Kyoto. It's famous for its thousands of vermilion Torii gates that located along the trails lead into the sacred Mt. Inari, which stands at 233 meters and belongs to the shrine grounds. The shrine is dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of Rice. Foxes are also famous in this shrine. They are considered as Inari's messengers.

2. Ginkaku-ji Temple
Ginkaku-ji Temple, also known as the Silver Pavilion, is a Zen temple that was the retreat of a shogun who had a passion for art.
His passion for art made it the center of art of the time.
This Higashiyama culture had a wide influence throughout Japan and contributed to the development of Japanese culture, including tea ceremony, flower arrangement, Noh drama, poetry, garden design, and architecture.
The temple is famous for its beautiful garden which can be enjoyed from a variety of angles by taking the circular route.

3.Philosopher's Path
Philosopher's Path is a beautiful canal-side walkway between Ginkaku-ji Temple and Nanzen-ji Temple in the northern part of Higashiyama. It was named after Kitaro Nishida, a professor of philosophy at Kyoto University, who walked it for meditation and refreshment.The walk is a popular destination for tourists and locals, especially during the cherry blossom season.

4. Yasaka Pagoda (Hokanji temple)
Yasaka Pagoda(Hokanji temple)
The five storied pagoda"Yasaka-no-tou" is an iconic architecture in this area. While most pagodas come complete with temples, Yasaka-no-to Pagoda stands mostly alone because the buildings of the temple of which it once belonged (Hokan-ji Temple) having been destroyed by fires,earthquakes and wars over the years.
The pagoda rebuilt in 1440 is remained intact and that makes you feel that you are in authentic scenery of Kyoto.

5. Higashiyama district (Ninen-zaka etc...)
Sannenzaka is located in the histrical area so called Higashiyama area.Here you can enjoy the beautiful scenery.The Kyoto style houses and paved path brings you into the authentic atomosphere.

6. Kiyomizu-dera Temple
It is one of the most popular temples in Kyoto.
It is visited by more than about 5 million people a year and is also called "the temple of the common people". The most popular spot is the wooden stage jutting out from the cliff.
No nails are used and the stage is supported by many zelkova pillars. The height of the stage is 12 meters.
You can enjoy the panoramic view of the city can be seen from there.
